Surrey City Centre or Whalley has never had that positive reputation and vibe in the past. Until Simon Fraser University established its campus in 2002; from then on, the City Centre slowly started to gain that positive reputation. Thoughout the years, the City Centre has slowly transformed from being ghetto and now surrounded by residential and mixed condo highrises.
Today, City Centre is the core of Surrey. Bustling retail shops, malls, restaurants and entertainment facilities, the Core is one of the most affodable areas to live compared to nearby neighbouring cities.
